Orchard Hill

The Maynard's are located about ten miles northwest of Caribou in Woodland. The farm, with 160 acres, is well suited to raising Highland beef cattle, one of the world's oldest pure breeds. Orachard Hill Farm has one of the largest herds of purebred registered Highlands in Maine. The animals are raised organically and humanely with respect and careful genetic selection.

No growth hormones are used and the farm is pesticide free. The primary focus is breeding stock, but the farm is licensed to sell USDA processed and packaged organic beef.
These long-horned, shaggy beasts are known for their hardiness and docile temperment. Orchard Hill Farm animals are handled frequently, many are halter trained, gentle, and love being brushed and combed. Visitors are always welcome to come to the farm and meet our herd, view the spring's new calf crop, and try their hand at grooming.
The Maynard's are members of the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardners Association (MOFGA), and annually exhibit their Highlands at the Common Ground
Fair in Unity, Maine each September.
